Dinner Recipe – Banana Waffles

Banana waffles are a great idea for a dessert for children or adults. My daughter loves them! They are incredibly easy to prepare. You won’t even need a mixer to make these delicious banana waffles! All you need to do is mix all the ingredients with a kitchen whisk. It’s really trivial and express! You can easily make them in 10 minutes, along with frying them. To prepare banana waffles, you will need a waffle iron, e.g. with stainless steel baking plates or a Teflon surface. Thanks to this, you will prepare the perfect waffles like from a booth by the sea! However, the toppings you add on top of them depend only on you. What do you like waffles with the most?

What do we eat…

This banana waffle recipe  is proven and reliable. I like to prepare them as something sweet with coffee. Just mix a few ingredients and you’re done.  I’m sure your kids will go crazy at the sight of waffles like this. It is worth adding that they do not contain practically white sugar, but are simply sweetened with ripe, mashed banana. If you want, you can replace light wheat flour, e.g. with spelt or whole wheat flour. Are you looking for other recipes with banana in the lead role? Then try my banana cake or banana bread, which is a hit on my blog. You will also find a slightly slimmed down baked product – fit banana bread (without sugar, without flour and with little fat).

I especially recommend preparing my banana waffles when you have an excess of ripe bananas in your kitchen. I try not to waste food and use everything I have so that these products do not end up in the trash. If you already have some black bananas on the outside, but they still look nice inside, you can easily use them for baking. It is a really great ingredient in sweet desserts or cakes.

The top of the waffles can be sprinkled with powdered sugar or served with your favorite fruit or jam. It all depends on what you like best. If you are looking for similar recipes, but in a slightly slimmed down version, be sure to try my classic recipe for crispy waffles or whole-grain waffles without fat.

How to prepare…

Ingredients:

Waffle dough:

1 large, ripe banana (or 2 small)

190 g plain flour

40 ml oil

1 large egg

1 teaspoon baking powder

pinch of cinnamon

150 ml milk

Additionally:

icing sugar for dusting

fruit for decoration

We start by preparing the banana waffle dough. Mash a ripe large banana (or two small ones) with a fork or potato masher, for example. Add cake wheat flour (190 g), oil or melted butter (40 ml), large egg, baking powder (1 flat teaspoon), cinnamon (a pinch) and milk (150 ml). I don’t use sugar in this recipe because I used a sweet, ripe banana, but if you want to add 1 tablespoon of white or powdered sugar.

Mix everything with a whisk only until the ingredients combine. The dough should come out a bit thick. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes to puff up slightly. Fry the waffles in a preheated waffle iron until they are nicely browned. Serve with your favorite toppings. In my case, with vanilla homogenized cheese and fresh fruit. Enjoy your meal!
